2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee review from North America
"Quality questionable for price"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have had my JGC for a little over a year now and have had some of the same problems as others that I have read about. About a month after I bought it, I had to have the brakes checked out because they were squealing and shaking a little. Luckily all they had to do was replace the brakes, but there is still a squealing noise from the front left side brake. I have had to have the drivers seat replaced already because it broke away from the mounting bracket and it's already making a popping noise like it did just before it broke last time so I think it's going to happen again soon. I also have some sort of popping noise out of the steering column which is getting more frequent, but I'm having that checked out this weekend. On a good note, I am totally satisfied with the overall performance of the vehicle as far as performance and handling. Luckily for the few problems that I have had, the dealer has helped out quite a bit and my extended warranty has covered it all. In my opinion, the overall quality is questionable for what a new JGC costs, but luckily I bought my 2001 used at a good price.
