The heater problem you are experiencing (cold air only) is caused by the "blend door " failing in your heater air box. Unfortunately the repair at a dealer shop will cost you dearly ($1000+). Go on ebay and look for the Heater Treater repair kit. I put one in my 2002 GC and it works great... cost $130.

Yes I too own a 2001 jeep grand Cherokee and have read all the comments listed here. I am experiencing no heat on the passenger side, blowing cold air. The repair is a 2-3 day job and around 750.00. I love my jeep and have had to put some money into it. The rotors all went, but only once. I have 139k and change my oil every 3000 miles. It is in the shop right now for engine light and power steering pump. I just had to get a new flasher, turn signal switch. So Things seem to be braking down, but they do with every vehicle. My heaters in both my seats have failed and need repair.

I have to agree with the one that commented earlier. I LOVE my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I did have the driver seat trouble that has been described in other reviews, but it was repaired with a few large washers, and we haven't had a problem since. Today, I am searching for a solution about my lift gate lock grinding. My Jeep goes anywhere, and I never have to worry about being stuck in Montana winter weather. Even though I have had minor problems (what vehicle doesn't), I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I have a problem with my 2001 jeep grand cherokee starting. It will run fine and when I turn it off and come back to it later, it won't start back up. The lights and windows and sunroof work but the truck won't start. Can anyone tell me what this is?

I have only had it 3 months and I have had some issues with it already.

Got my first Jeep.. 2001 GC Limited. Very nice looking, and great ride.. has 108k miles on it. The seat heaters don't work, the climate control works (I think).. but more than anything.. has anyone had the same noises coming from the rear of the vehicle (I think).. has a thumping, or clunking sound might be a better way to describe it. Very subtle, but definitely there. I think it sounds like bushings, or loose shock mounts. Anyone have a good guess?
