2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited review from North America
"Fun to drive, and for a domestic vehicle, it is marginal at best"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The power door lock on the driver's door malfunctioned at 40000. I had the brakes replaced today, and the Jeep dealer informed me that when the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee came out, it had a two caliper system that was had on the rotors, and that, in fact, mine were warped. He said for a minimal cost of almost $300, they would replace them with a new 1 caliper system that was less damaging to the rotors. My question for Jeep/Chrysler is why that they have not recalled the Cherokee and replaced the calipers on all of them if they know this to be a problem?
General comments?
I love my Cherokee, regardless of the brake problems. But, I am reluctant to buy another Cherokee because of the brake problem and the fact that they depreciate in value so considerably.
