It made big noise when I was making a big turn, sounds like it doesn't have power steeling fluid.
At 5,000 miles the speakers made some unusual noise ''popping''
Cargo area is extremely small.
I just got this SUV for 5 months, the sound system is bad now, feels like you bought a $50 stereo from mal*mart. and I took it to a jeep dealership, they say that is the way it is. I said '' all right'' and then I found out another problem, the rear reading lights have no switches on them, and the service manager told me" The package on your jeep does not have that feature, it only can be turned on by the front control" then I took it to a personal repair store, they had it done in 15 minutes.
I will never buy a Chrysler product again! the techs are so unskilled.
I am sorry you had this experience. The dealership that I use has gone far and above for our jeeps. We have had 7 jeeps in 15 years, and have been happy with all of them. Maybe changing dealerships my help.
The reviewer seems to have some complaints that are a bit unreasonable. If the cargo area is tiny (which I don't think it is) why did you go ahead and buy it. Has it ever occurred to you that the steering is probably noisy because it's in 4WD or because it's not rack and pinion. That doesn't mean the car's a piece of crap. Although, the speakers should be checked out. It's spelled Laredo.
I really don't think this guy owns a Jeep. If he did, he'd realize that they are the coolest American SUV's around. Come on now, the cargo area is to small? The Grand Cherokee has the most cargo space of any Jeep out there! As for the radio, somehow I don't believe that either. And this is the kind of person who walks in and says "excuse me, I have a problem with my Jeep. Does someone mind helping me?" Then once the dealership laughs and walks all over him/her they go, "well golly jee, they sure were not nice." This jeep sucks because it makes a noise! Get real dude, all things on a car make a noise some point in time. Live with it. By the way, it's LAREDO not LERADO (another reason why I think this person doesn't own a Jeep.) By the way, if you have a problem, you gotta be tough with the dealership, no matter what car company or dealership.
I wanted to know if you ever found out what the problem was with the loud noise when you make a turn? When I turn left, my jeep whines just like it has no power steering fluid or something. I have had it to the dealer 2 times and they say they hear nothing! I will be taking it again next week. Also 16,000 miles and the bushions (sp?) have already been replaced. I like the it, but it's definately not worth what I paid. Thanks!
Apparently, when they designed the 2004 they added a hydraulic pump to run the power steering, the fan and a/c. It helps to have the power steering fluid flushed. My dealer told me I needed to replace the $1500 pump - I tried the flush first, it's been 8 mths and I haven't had a recurrence. I've had a Jeep before and I find they are put together very quickly the stripping around the doors has come loose on every door even after having changed it while the warranty was in effect. I've had to replace parts of the suspension in both vehicles as well. I like the drive, 4X4 and the space but I'll be paying for the thing until it's run into the ground unless it runs without to much more trouble into 300 000 km. So far I feel the Grand Cherokees are overpriced.
