1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo review from North America
"Expect to pay a lot for repairs as the odometer turns!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I had gotten the water pump replaced at 71,000 miles, along with the radiator and drive belt.
Tires done at 94,000 miles.
Driver's side outside mirror refuses to go right to left under its own power, must move it with my hand. Even then, there is no resistance and it moves every once in a while.
Power antenna motor likes to run even if the antenna is all the way up or down.
General comments?
The NP249J 4WD system (Quadra Trac) is a good idea, but it is a poorly executed idea.
The 5.2 V8 has excellent power from any speed.
Transmission has an annoying jerk and clunk when shifted into reverse. I've seen Dodge trucks with the same noise and jerking, so I guess its just normal for the Chrysler V8 trannies?
The exhaust system sounds pretty good for a stock system, much less a Jeep!
The seats are excellent for long-trip comfort and the dual power option is pretty handy.
I avg. 17.3 MPG.
