Water pump went out at 160k
rad was a piece of junk when I bought it, but got it replaced for free alond with the water pump. it shakes when it idels. Also the transmission is skipping when I accelerate, I'm gonna have a rebuilt one to replace it.
Recently replaced my spark plugs, cap and rotor because my car would start in the winter when it "warmed" up (that's right, when it warmed up.) it starts in the cold with no problems. But now my jeep still won't start. Any Suggestions? Also my passenger window won't go back up from the passenger side, I have to do it. I think because my idiot friend broke it.
Overall, I like the car. I'm 21 and its the first car I bought. despite the transmission and my car not starting now, I love this piece of junk and I gave it some punishment too.
It could be the Neutral safety reverse switch that is keeping your jeep from starting. It could be rebuilt or replace for about $200 on average. The window is probably an actuator, could cost some $ if you don't want to do it yourself. The chilton's repair manual is a great book and has helped me out a lot with mine. Good luck!
It shakes when it idels because the plug wires are bad. Change your plugs stick with the Champion brand (trust me there cheap, but effective). Same with the wires, cap and rotor. As for the skipping during acceleration try the TPS (Throttle Position Switch) cost around $350 at a trustworthy transmission shop. I should know my baby has over 200k.
