Electrical problems.
The transmission is the biggest piece of crap ever.
Braking sucks.
A/C broke twice now.
Radio has been replaced twice.
I have only owned a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee since June this year and in that time have had over £8000 spent on the car to repair numerous faults.
The gearbox failed, air con failed, brakes pulled sharply to the left, ABS light stuck on, driver's seat was replaced, passenger seat is due to be replaced, exhaust manifold cracked, mirror memory failed and the rear diff rumbles (repaired twice and waiting for repair again) and these are the ones I can remember.
This is the worst vehicle I have ever owned and I would never consider buying another. I have been in dispute with the dealer from 3 weeks after I took delivery of the car but they refused to take the vehicle back. I am now stuck with a car that I don't want and am just waiting for something else to go wrong.
I have a 1990 Jeep Pioneer. It is in mint condition, always garaged and serviced by the dealership only. We trust our dealer.
I can only say that we never had a major breakdown with our Jeep. Very dependable.
I am unfamiliar with the new Jeeps and in the market for another SUV. Just don't know which is the best for my money.

We are the owners of a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Our Jeep is loaded and we loved it when we bought it.
However, over the past 6-8 months we have dealt with:
* A/C blower module replaced two times
* A/C condenser replaced once
* Transfer case rebuilt,
* Brakes/tires squeak
* Other minor repairs.
We are ready to give this car away. The service bills are beginning to get out of control. The vehicle has only 86,000 miles, been garage kept, and all maintenance is up to date.
