1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo review from North America
"Very Reliable and just a blast to drive on road and off"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At about 170,000 miles a transmission line broke, and she knew it was leaking bad, and still drove it home. Which afterwards the tranny started slipping, but just drove it for a few more years until I got it, and then the transmission went out, cost a 1100 dollars to replace. One of the starter sensors went out, and every once in a while it wouldn't start, but usually if you waited half a day or so it would start. I had to replace the valve cover gasket and the oil pan gasket, and only the driver can control the windows, and the lock isn't on. But besides that we havent had any problems with it.
General comments?
This SUV has been a very very reliable vehicle, I have never gotten it stuck, (and I live in the country so I like to go out in the mud and snow)
Also I have a cold air in take on my I6 and I get about 23 miles to the gallon going 60 and 19miles to the gallon at 75-80.
Seats are very comfortable, and stock sound system is very good.
For a I6 this vehicle has good power and good acceleration, I raced my buddies 2000 4.3liter vortec blazer, and I walked all over him liek it was nothing, which really surprised me.
