1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited review from North America
"Superb"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
To date I have had no failures of any sort. However being a service mechanic I have done quite a bit of preventative maintenance in order to avoid a "Failure" upon purchasing the vehicle I immediately flushed both the transmission and coolant as well as replaced the thermostat and switched to synthetic oil and did a complete tune up to include cap rotor and plug wires.. Why? At 69,000 miles even though the jeep runs like a top with out any problems whatsoever I want it to run this way for the next ten years or even more. Better to invest a little money so that your new vehicle performs like new for the entire time you own it then to do no maintenance and suffer catastrophic failures. I have also replaced the front brake pads, but do not consider this a failure as the tires and brakes are wearable items and are not designed to last forever and driving habits are the main reason these items fail. The last owner kept this in immaculate condition and in the event I do sell it the next owner will get it in even better shape.
General comments?
Best investment in a vehicle I have had to date.
Great performance for it's size.
Very very poor gas economy.
Although poor on gas will not part with it.
