1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo review from North America
"The best used vehicle I've ever owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I smoked a bird which put a hole in the radiator so I had to change that.
Changed a CV axle at around 170 000 km.
Changed the water pump and serpentine belt at the same time at around 185 000 km.
Other than that, just tires, breaks, oil changes, air filters, the usual, etc.
General comments?
This was my favourite vehicle by a long shot. The V8 was powerful, and not overly hard on gas, quite good considering it's an AWD. The acceleration was impressive. It's too bad the speedometer only goes to 200 kmph because it was able to bury the needle with ease. I live up on a mountain where the plows can be quite slow and this thing could tread through the snow or ice as if it wasn't even there. A few times to show off to my friends, I'd stop on a steep icy hill near my place and hold the break till I'd start sliding backwards and I could just press the gas and climb up the hill as if I was on dry pavement. I definitely plan on buying another, I really like the 1999-2004 model.
