2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited review from North America
"A very satisfied owner -- this is a reliable, comfortable vehicle with eye-catching styling."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
At 145,000 miles, I replaced the water pump, radiator hoses, heater hoses, and thermostat. I also replaced the shock absorbers. This was the first major work I have performed.
Also disc brake pads and tires have been replaced during the life of the vehicle -- through normal, expected wear.
General comments?
This vehicle has been one of the most reliable I have ever owned. In fact, I was so impressed with the 2001 Jeep that I bought another one -- a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. This vehicle, too, has proved utterly reliable and serves faithfully as our family's "spare" vehicle. I do all my own servicing and work on the Jeeps and find them extremely straightforward to maintain. I am a "stickler" for engine oil and filter changes every 3,000 miles, along with all the other service requirements laid down by the manufacturer. My thinking here is if they made the product, they must surely know when it needs attention!
