2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo review from North America
General comments?
I am contemplating purchasing a used Jeep. I have learned so much from all the comments. I know to watch out for the brakes, don't use the remote door locks, keep it service by a competent non-dealer Jeep mechanic, and to buy the in line 6,2WD OR 2X4WD. Seems like a lot, but after comparing it to replacing the transmission in a RX300 Lexus (4-5K),I am still willing to roll the dice and buy used. I will not be fooled by the Jeeps beautiful looks and will be careful to check my Jeep out thoroughly.
I had a dealer inspect one today ($89) that I was considering and ran a car fax check. After driving it and getting the results of the inspection (needed rear end work and DOOR LOCKS:) ),I knew that it would be a problem Jeep. I am still looking and reading. Thanks so much. I may look at the pathfinder, but the straight 6 is hard to beat.
If there are after factory upgrades you that any of you know of, please let me know. I want to be a happy face Jeeper.
