2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo review from North America
"Not bad - not great"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I am commenting on the rocking of my 2000 Grand Cherokee driver seat. As other have mentioned, the driver seat started rocking and when I looked under the seat to see the problem, saw that the seat bracket that mounts the seat to the floor bolts had broken away. I have had many cars in the past and nothing like this had ever happened. I was verbally quoted $400 for the repair at the dealer. As I felt this was more a safety issue, I went all the way to Chysler Corporate looking for their support to cover the repair. I was told "they were sorry, but" the vehicle was out of the standard warranty and my extended only covered the drive-train. This problem seems to be more common than one would think. I got the part number 4856471AB from the dealer which is the drivers front seat bracket. Please check with your dealer before using this part number for your vehicle. I purchased the part at wholesalemopar. com for about $120, and will make the repair myself. Good luck.
General comments?
I like the Grand Cherokee, just wish I didn't have the little nit pick problems that seem to come with it.
