2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited review from North America

The seat heater in the drivers seat had to be replaced twice. Once under warranty, once not.

The front brakes had to be replaced at around 13,000 miles, but after that I never had a problem with them.

The front passenger side window regulator broke around 72,000 miles, was replaced easily with an E-bay bought part.

The steering wheel leather started to break down and disintegrate after being about two years old.

The transmission started to shift funny and hard around 70,000 miles. A tranny shop said it was the throttle position sensor. After a trip to the parts store, $25.00 and about 15 minutes it was fixed.

Air conditioner compressor clutch went bad at about 70,000 miles. Again replaced with an E-bay bought part.

I had this Jeep for 5 years and it was the best vehicle I have ever owned. Between my wife and I we have owned 6 SUV's and this by far was our favorite. It had plenty of power for anything you wanted to tow or haul. It had a nice ride, comfortable, but not squishy or truck-like. The brakes were always tight and did not vibrate.

There were a few little problems with it, but there was never anything wrong that I could not fix in my driveway in less than a day.

Due to an expanding family and the fact that the Jeep GC will not fit 2 car seats and a booster seat across the back, we were forced to sell it and buy a minivan. I will most certainly own another! It was the most reliable, comfortable, easy to drive and easy to park vehicle I have ever owned.
