1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer review from North America
"Sexiest car around"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
First off this is the 2nd Wagoneer I have owned. Never had any problems with the first. The previous owner of this vehicle didn't do any maintenance that he should have.
With this waggy, first it was the motor. 360ci threw a rod from number 6 cylinder.
Rear leafs needed to be replaced due to the condition saggy waggy. Replaced with a 6" lift.
Drooping head liner.
Prior to the lift, had to beat in the pinch weld over the passenger rear tire that kept blowing out the tire while offroading.
Replaced the stock stereo with an aftermarket.
NP229 transfer case blew up when the vacuum shift motor went out on the interstate, and tried to shift my t-case into 4 high. Took out the t-case and the front drive shaft.
Driver's window track broke.
General comments?
The most amazing 4x4 you could ever own. It will go anywhere and do anything. Just remember Jeep stands for just empty every pocket. If you have a good running Jeep, you also have a good gainfully employed mechanic.
