1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer review from North America
"A very powerful, attractive, endearing, comfortable vehicle for those who enjoy life in the woods"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Air conditioning (leaked - charge ran down).
Went through 2 batteries.
Gas gauge and oil pressure gauge failed.
Front U-joints wore out quite quickly.
New brakes only lasted 2 years (probably due to the weight of the vehicle)
Power windows required maintenance.
Tailgate switch for the back window failed.
Cruise control module failed.
Mileage has never gone over 15 mpg.
General comments?
In spite of the troubles, I still love this vehicle.
It's wonderful to drive on the highway, very comfortable, and is a very stable, safe vehicle for towing.
In 4-wheel drive, this vehicle is amazing. It can practically climb trees. I have always been impressed with the way it performs off-road. I also love the removable rear seat feature. For two people, the truck becomes a very comfortable camper while travelling in the wilderness.
