General comments?

This jeep is the best thing that came out of the United States that was built by a true American company...AMC

This jeep has seen and done things that would have put others in there grave... runs through 3 feet of snow at 55mph with no problems.. pulls out other 4x4s out of the snow like butter, can run a deer down like a pancake with very little damage

Even one day my Grand Wagoner was hit by a 18 wheeler in the front end and spun me around like a toy, but when. I got out to look at the damage. It was nothing that a telephone pole an a good set of tow ropes could not pull out. If this was any other plastic 4x4 you seen on the roads today the damage would have easy hit you pocket for a few thousand dollars.

After not washing or cleaning my Grand Wagoner for the past five years she is starting to show her age, but this is the vehicle that has stole my heart. My hopes is to some day restore her back to her true beauty.

Response to this review:

First I am 80 years old and have lived in snow country ALL my life and know for sure that there is NO jeep of any kind that will run through 3 feet of snow at all with out help.

They always just get high centered on snow that gets packed up under the vehicle.

NO WAY you could drive through 3 feet of snow at 50 MPH.

Second the 1988 Jeep Wagoneer built by AMC had one of the weakest frames ever used on a JEEP product. Even Chrysler improved on it when they bought the Jeep name.

Even my old 1969 Jeepster built by Kaiser has a lot more metal in the frame and bumper area than a 1988 Wagoneer.

When AMC bought the rights to JEEP in 1970 they built the Jeepster as it had been built by Kaiser then in 1971 lightened it about 200 pounds.

Leroy the MtnMan in the usually snow covered mountains in Northern Nevada at about 8800 feet elevation.

It's not happening. I live in Eastern Oregon, and if we drove 70 in three feet of snow, we would die.
