Right now I am having a serious problem with the rear electric window in my Jeep. It has gone down but will not go back up. I have checked the wires and they appear to be OK. Since the window is down, I can't get in to check the motor. Does anyone know how to get the window to go up?

The Jeep is in very good condition. It runs good but does use big $$ in gas. It leaks some oil also.
I like to drive it. It is a 4x4 that operates perfectly.
On the the rear gate you must remove the panel and on the right hand side is a gear that has a chain. Remove the chain and the gear now can be turned (hard but it will move). Once the the window is up, do not go to the dealer to get a new motor, go on line to a junkyard and buy..

I would advise removing the key lock assembly, obviously from the outside. It requires only a phillips and torx screwdriver. If window is stuck down you may be able to move the switch with a long screwdriver. Once you have the cover plate and lock cylinder removed you will be able to see the assembly that the lock shaft moves. The switch is to the left. Good luck.
First take of the outside lock cover. second insert a long flathead screwdriver and jump the wires to the switch. there might be some sparking, but this is good. wait until the window either goes up or down. if it is not going the right direction then cross the other wires.
