2002 Jeep Liberty Limited review from North America

"I think that I got a whole lot of pretty horses for a great price."

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing! The only complaints that I get are from folks that are 6' or taller. But there's plenty of leg room for us shorties. Having read the other reviews for this vehicle, I'm wondering if everyone is sticking to the advice from their dealership. My husband and I attended a little class that our dealership offered. Change your oil regularly and use the good stuff! Very important-Don't buy fuel from stations that merely buy leftovers from others and then mix it! Cheap fuel is harder on the wallet than you know. (e.g. Royal Farms' Enroy) Vacuum your carpet once a week so that when you can afford to have it detailed it will look brand new. If you're like me and can't get it detailed more than twice per year... at least once per month, wash it yourself and then use paper towels to dry out every nook and cranny! Febreze! A tube of touch up paint is a must. Diligently strive to have all of the recommended maintenance performed. Use common sense when going off road driving-it's a vehicle not a miracle! I've had my Jeep Liberty Limited almost 2 years now and she's been great to us. I live on the East Coast and took her through all 12 of the snow storms that we got hit with last year.

General comments?

Great little SUV: better gas mileage than monstrous SUV's, parks like a car for those that worry about that sort of thing, as the one that does the shopping-I love the grocery bag hooks attached to the back of the rear seats, never had any trouble off roads, perfect for the city or the country.

However...if you are 6' tall or taller, this is not the vehicle for you. My uncle, 6' 3", could barely get behind the wheel without pain, cursing and the fact that the steering wheel tilts. He said he'd never get in again!
