2000 Jeep TJ Sport review from North America
"Fair"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Check guages light comes on. Problem corrected in July '04.
Radiator replaced before that because of a slow coolant leak.
Catalytic converter just replaced (this was under warranty)
Jeep is now in for a cracked head gasket and it is recommended to replace the oil pump also at a total cost of $1700+.
General comments?
My Jeep Wrangler has been serviced as scheduled since I purchased it new. Problems started at around 58000 miles. This vehicle has never been off road or abused in any way. I use it for transportation to and from work, around town and for vacation.
I purchased this Jeep because of durabilty. I don't mind the ride or anything else that may bother other people.
It is the perfect size vehicle for me and the air condioning and 4 wheel drive are what I like about it.
My concern at this point is the cost of owning this vehicle. I purchased it new and had it serviced as scheduled. At just under 70000 miles, I don't think these are problems that can be justified.
