2001 Jeep Wrangler Sport review from North America
"Note to self; it's not a car so don't compare it to a car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
On rare occasion it wouldn't start because something about the shifter wouldn't recognize that it was in park. Dealership fixed it in a day for free. No problems since then.
General comments?
For over 5 years I've wanted a Wrangler. I didn't buy it to look cool. I didn't buy it expecting a smooth ride, great gas mileage, or for a roomy interior. I bought it because I knew what it could do, I respected its roots, and loyalty is bested only by Harley-Davidson owners.
I don't want to be a SUV poser but I'm sad to admit that I've only taken it off-road only once. I took on a path that only had dirt-bike tracks. I got stuck because of my inexperience but was able to get out without assistance nor a winch. I went up sharp inclines that were winding around water-erosion pits, through ditches that had walls higher than the wheel clearance, and over obstacles that would halt others. I can't wait to do it again but next time I'm bringing some friends along.
I love this thing... plus it's American-made.
