1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport review from North America
"The last true American classic"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The manifold cracked and burned my clutch cylinder up.
Electrical problem with the fuel gage.
Driver side zipper doesn't always close.
General comments?
The six cylinder Jeep is the only way to go, the four is way too underpowered.
My straight six gets the same gas mileage as the four cylinder.
No matter what, get the soft top and add the hard top if you want.
The heater can burn you out of the vehicle in the coldest part of the winter with the soft top on because it is well insulated.
I can out corner everything except very nimble sports cars.
There is no tendency for it to roll over even when I have put it into hard power slides and extreme side to side wheel movements.
Nothing can stop the six cylinder Wrangler in regard to weather or terrain.
The parts for a Wrangler are easy to come by and cheap since there are so many made.
My Wrangler is the most reliable transportation I have ever owned.
Be prepared to wave to every other Jeep owner and cute girl with the top down.
Girls always want to ride in my Jeep with the top down.
It sounds just like the Jeeps you have seen in war movies, but rides like a Caddy with the new coil-over suspension.
This machine is made to party on or off road!
The after-market warranty which is not Daimler-Chrysler is completely worthless.
Most Jeep dealerships will not honor the horrible after-market warranty because they cannot get their money from them.
There isn't enough room for more than two people on a long trip.
The zippers on the half doors are a joke and should be substituted with sliding glass doors from after-market suppliers that are in abundance.
