Nightmare on wheels.
Electrical problems galore.
A/C is broke.
Engine problems.
Worst mistake I ever made.
No such thing as a 1994 V6 Jeep.
Actually, yes there was. The 4.0 Liter/I-6 was produced from 1991 to present. The optional engine, and the unbreakable choice, is the 2.5 Liter/I-4.

That's I-6, not a V-6. V-6 was Cheroke in early 80's and CJ's in early 70's.
Yea he's right. it's a stright 6. AKA inline. v6 was 80's and today.
The first Wrangler (1987) models had a 4.2 straight six, a few years later Jeep went with the 4.0 liter straight six (which was & is a fantastic engine) Recently Chrysler stopped putting the 4.0 Six in Wranglers and went with their 3.8 liter V6 (which in my opinion was a bad move).
In the 1990's thru the mid 2000's there was no V6 available in the Wrangler, just the superb inline 6.
I have you know that you are right; in 1994, if you would have said give me the V6, the dealer would have laughed at you. The old 4.0 that I own just turned 160000 and is still ticking. Now I am not to say I haven't had a few problems. But all and all, it has been a good Jeep. AND I DRIVE THAT BAD BOY EVERYDAY.
I have a 1994 with 168,000 miles, a four inch lift, and 4:10 gears.
At 156,000 miles I replaced the water pump, and have replaced the rag top once.
I love that Jeep, most dependable thing I have ever owned.
Wow, so much confusion about engines. "I" stands for "in-line", while "V" means the cylinders are opposed to each other in a V. No Jeep has EVER had a V-6 until they started using the 3.8L in the Liberty, and then started putting them in the Wrangler last year. (Both of these are different from the "Slant 6" used in Dodges and Plymouths of the 1960s-1980s.) Prior to that, any Jeep with a 6-cylinder was an in-line 6. And there is no V-4. It is an I-4.
"Recently Chrysler stopped putting the 4.0 Six in Wranglers and went with their 3.8 liter V6 (which in my opinion was a bad move)."
I sure hope you're wrong. I also think the straight six was a good engine but my 07 has the 3.8L V6. So far (22,000 miles) I've had no problems. It's been good, strong, and well matched to the transmission and transfer case (Rubicon) for off-road use. I'm just hoping that the new motor is as good as the old one over the long haul. Chrysler had to change engines to conform to efficiency and probably emissions requirements. It's just too bad. The 4.0 was tried and true.
To 26th Feb 2009, 11:06- The Jeep Liberty has a 3.7 liter V6 -this is not the same V6 now used in the Wrangler. The Wrangler has the 3.8 liter engine, which was (and is) used in the minivans.
