2000 Jeep Wrangler Sport review from North America
"One of the best vehicles I've ever owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
There have been no problems with this vehicle.
General comments?
The Wrangler is as dependable as it is fun to drive.
First, Jeeps are not for everyone. They ride a little rough. They are not great highway cruisers. The fuel mileage isn't great. But, that being said, the Jeep is one of the most enduring designs on the planet.
I have a 70 mile round trip commute every day. More than one winter night, plowing through snowdrifts as high as the bumper, down deserted 2 lane highways, my Jeep always gets me home. It is one of the most competent handling vehicles on the snow or ice I've ever driven.
The 4.0 6 cylinder engine makes lots of low end torque. Don't expect great highway power, but the low end is great for finding a back road and exploring it. One of the few straight-6 designs left, the 4.0 takes advantage of the durability and power a straight 6 is capable of.
In the 4+ years I've owned this Jeep, I have had no problems at all. Only routine maintenance and tires. I highly recommend the Wrangler to anyone, as long as you know what to expect from it.
