So far I have had no problems with my Jeep.
I love this Jeep. I have not had any problems with it in the time I've had it.
It is all stock except for the tire size; I put some 31x10.50x15's on there with no lift. Everything works perfect on and off road. I read a lot of reviews of people saying the 4cyl is a slug, but the only time it's ever felt like it had a lack of power was when I was on the interstate driving into some really hard winds.
I drove this thing over 2000 miles in 5 days, and was doing 65-70 mph the whole time, and the trip was perfect, no problems.
Gets shaky if I go above 70, but it's a brick with wheels.
I have no special mods other than 31 inch tires, it's factory everything, and I have never got stuck offroad and successfully drove cross country, so it has proven to be capable of doing on and off road well.
I'm glad to see that there is another Jeep enthusiast who appreciates the greatness of the AMC designed YJ.
I just got my YJ. It came with 35s and a lift, but did not have a Slip Yoke eliminator. I have only got to drive it once, and that was to the shop to install the SYE kit and the CV style driveshaft. I can't wait to open up the soft top and get this Jeep dirty. I love the look of my YJ and the square headlights are awesome cos only the YJ's have them. It's a Jeep thing. Have a safe fun summer.
