2001 Kia Sephia review from North America
"Huge waste of time and money!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
1st Transmission change @ 54000.
2nd Transmission change @ 56000.
3rd Transmission change @ 65000.
Air condensor @ 75000.
Alternator @ 78000.
Battery @ 78000.
Emergency brake cable @ 78000.
General comments?
The first tranmisison blew out on my way to work, my travel distance to work one way is 38 miles.
The second transmission was changed due to the fact that the KIA dealership did not install it properly. I first noticed a small leak under the car and when I checked the tranny oil there where metal shavings in it. The third transmisison was changed due to the fact that reverse went out, again at my duty station (Ft. Irwin Ca.) 38 miles away.
I am starting to get horrible gas mileage, where I would usually fill up on Friday on my trip home, I was finding myself filling up 2 times a week and still left only with half a tank when I got home. Mind you I have all service records and new tires, also I've tried cleaning fuel injectors, gas filters, air filters nothing has helped.
So now this car needs three new parts and is just sitting in front of my house.
The only thing that I could say is KIA offers a good power train warranty or else the three tranny's would have been out of pocket.
All the parts replaced and labor on the car are worth more than the car itself.
