1999 Kia Sephia review from North America
"Sup-par economy car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Starter wore out around 85000 miles.
Battery cables need replacement.
Brake rotors wore down severely.
Dash always rattled.
Airbags did not deploy in a 35mph head-on crash.
Upholstery was worthless and not durable.
Glove box stuck shut (had to pry it open to get my registration for a cop!).
General comments?
Pretty quick for a four cylinder, could pass safely on the highway if I dropped a gear. Topped out at a little over 120mph.
Excellent mpg, usually just under 40.
Interior is very noisy, although it was pretty roomy.
In freezing temperatures door locks tended to freeze in the open or closed when getting in and out of the car. This made it so I had to either hold the door closed, get out through the window, or wait till it got warm enough.
