1999 Kia Sportage review from North America
"It's a joke"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I just got the 1999 Kia Sportage from my Mom about 2 months ago. She gave it to me after buying it from a dealership 6 months prior.
Had to take it to 3 different mechanics/body shops today because the frame completely rusted through. The rest of the car is in great shape, and runs perfect... except for the fact that it is a death trap. Turns out that in the slightest accident, the entire back end of the car will crumple in and seriously hurt or kill the person driving and whoever else is in the car. Needless to say, it's going back to the dealer.
The mechanics told me it is illegal/unethical to fix the problem, because no amount of repair work can fix it. You can literally stick your hand through the holes where it rusted in the frame.
General comments?
I will never own another one.
