Nothing has gone wrong.
Comfortable. I like the ruggedness, I don't feel like I'm going break it. Higher quality fit and finish than what I expected. Body on the frame with a good reliable 4WD system and a low gear.
A few negative things would be the sluggishness from start, though once up to speed I find it quite capable on the highway.
A few buttons could be better placed and better speakers on the stereo, though I like the CD player layout. It is very easy to use.
A better power locking system with buttons would be nice.
Some people complain of tippiness with the handling yet I find it quite stable. Going from a car to a SUV took some getting used to but once I did and realized it wasn't going to roll over on its roof in a corner then I found it good to drive.
I love my Sportage. It has already been recalled due to a defective o ring and the service department did not have it ready on Friday as promised. I am using a rental this weekend. Otherwise, the vehicle has been responsive, reliable, and it elicits positive comments from friends and co-workers. The gas mileage could be better, but I had an economy mid-sized car prior to this. That car got 32 mpg. I was very spoiled!!
Overall this is a wonderful vehicle.
I had a Sportage and did 87,000km in 10.5 months. It was great, apart from routine services & tyres and a blown headlight globe nothing went wrong. I had to sell it as I needed a larger vehicle (very reluctantly). I am now in the process of buying another - it must be a manual. It would go places my brothers Landcruiser SWB had problems. I would like a bigger motor. Money for value - GREAT. I have absolutely no complaints.
