Faulty wiring caused me to get stranded twice & the car needed to be towed.
Loss of power & jerking, but the agents cannot find the fault.
Engine check light keeps coming on, the agents keep cancelling the light as they cannot find the fault.
Faulty window switches had to be replaced.
The car just got out of the workshop on Thursday, but is booked again on Monday for another diagnosis as the check light is on again.
This car spends more time in the workshop than with me however it has good looks & handles well off-road.
I was looking for other reviews, but couldn't / didn't find any. I'm not so sure why?
The reason I am interested is because I am looking to purchase a 2003 KIA Sportage and I did notice the engine light on their reply was. It still had to be inspected. It is a used dealership. Do you still own your KIA or not? What would your advice be?
20 July 2009.
My 2003 Kia Sportage 4X4 is very reliable and hassle free.
The only problem I encountered is the auto window drop down glass. I think it is the white plastic holder of the glass riser cable that is somewhat brittle. Last month was the 3rd time that the glass riser mechanism was replaced by the Kia dealer workshop since I bought my Kia Sportage 4x4 in June 28, 2003.
I suggest to replace the white plastic cable guide with something metal or teflon plastic to make it more durable to compensate the stress of the cable when operating the window glass in this humid part of the Middle East.
Thanks for this space. Thanks to Kia.
