2000 Lada Niva review from Lebanon
"Great car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The clutch oil pump went wrong twice.
The gear got stuck and I kept on moving so eventually I had to replace the gear box.
The adjustment knobs for the front seats were out of function shortly after I bought the car.
The inside door handles and window levers were broken after one year of purchase.
As for other things in the car, all kept on functioning well till last day of ownership.
General comments?
The car is generally poorly built, but it is reliable.
The interior is not very roomy, but yet can accommodate 4 passengers.
I used the car in relatively tough roads (mud, sand and snow) and it delivers an outstanding performance keeping in mind its 1.7 cc engine.
The acceleration of the Lada Niva is slow on highways, but the engine will provide enough power to enjoy a drive to the mountain and surpass other cars.
