1991 Land Rover Defender review from UK and Ireland
"Superb piece of engineering - flawless"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing, despite hard on and off road use and a trans Sahara crossing.
General comments?
Unstoppable, built like a tank, totally reliable, massive safety and road presence. Parts the traffic like a lion in long grass.
Hard to drive, lots of body roll, not very comfortable if you are used to road cars. Parts are big and tough so pricey. Noisy. Thirsty, but then it weighs a lot and has no aerodynamics. I am planning to fit a modern turbodiesel.
