"This SUV is wonderful"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing.

General comments?

This SUV fits nicely into a certain niche in the market.

It can seat seven in a pinch (although a little cramped for some) yet is smaller than the "bus" type competitors. It is less expensive than other lesser vehicles that seat this many yet in my opinion carries a bit more esteem.

It is a world class vehicle so one can take it off road in the morning with total confidence yet clean it up and pull up to valet with pride that same night.

Cabin refinements are top notch in the SE series and the driver and passenger will undoubtedly appreciate a certain level of luxury.

The vehicle is well mannered both on and off road and if one remembers that this is not a sports car, performance should suit most just fine. I personally like to just relax and enjoy the ride and the stereo when I travel so I'm not one to race from stop light to stop light or weave in and out of traffic trying to get one car ahead.

Gas consumption, while pretty poor, is right in there with other large SUV's. Better than some in fact.

The second row seats are a little short on leg room and the back doors are tight for larger people to get in and out (large in-law's will assume that you have the vehicle to torment them).

The turning radius is wider than it should be for a truck with this wheel base.

The ignition is poorly placed behind the wiper switch making it difficult to get the key in on the first try (I generally have to poke my head around to the side and watch what I'm doing to make the connection).

The interior door handles are poorly placed.

There is no real "change holder" that is easily accessible and in a "toll" road state, this is a bit annoying.

Replace the cigarette tray on the right side of the radio with the same holder on the left (dealer will sell you one for $10) - holds change well.

As far as the tolls - if you can get FastTrak or some other form of pre-pay I would reccommend it - it was the best thing I ever have done and it took me two years to finally decide to pre-pay - what an idiot I was!

Has been a money pit for me... replaced sensors 2 times, have rust spot on top (thought the vehicle was all aluminum) front wheel bearings, heated seat malfuntioned twice and burnt a hole through my pants, (landrover replaced twice free of charge) other odd items that cost a lot of money... now the horn beeps for no reason (had to take fuse out) I`m selling it.
