This car may be fine for going to Sainsbury's, but try using one in a real off-road environment!
I used one in Kenya for over a year, and then abandoned it for a 1986 FJ60 Landcruiser (indestructable).
In Africa we have the worst road conditions in the world. Take it from me, the Landy may look nice, but it just does not measure up. Over-complex, sloppily built, impossible to fix without a PHD.
Interesting that you got an HJ60 Cruiser after dabbling in a Landy - I did too! My '95 Disco V8 carked it after a 20,000km trip round Oz. Heater matrix blew (by-passed), then the camshaft endfloat started knocking like mad (ignored), wheel bearing seized (replaced), and the starter motor snuffed it (replaced). The water pump conked out shortly after the trip and I traded it in to a shonky dealer up the road. In spite of all the problems, I loved the comfort and relative power of the vehicle - great off road too - but a bit of a worry when on your own in the outback. It only had 100,000km when I cut my losses. The Cruiser is as tough as nails and although it's 6 years older, I have heaps more confidence in it. The 2H diesel is simple, super reliable and much cheaper to run. Go the Tojo!
