"Bad buy I would look at a Japanese make"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Lacks power on small hills

Very sqeeky wheels. dealer unable to resolve.

Cylinder head gasket blew.

Tow driver says this is avery common problem. It blew a long way fro home and cost £120 to tow home.

When brake pedal is depressed there is a rough feeling throug the pedals.

Interior design is excellent.

General comments?

I am very dissapointed that the head gasket blew and Landrover know this to be a problem. Bad move because I wouldn't recommend this vehicle to any one. After all, do you want to buy a vehicle that will almost certainly blow a gasket a long way from home.

Hi all.

I recently bought a Land Rover Freelander 1800 in South Africa. it was a 2000 model with 80 000km on the clock.

I have always wanted a Land rover and was very excited to buy the above mentioned vehicle.

Great was my disapointment when the cylinder head gasket blew on 85 000 km.

I will never ever again buy a land rover as long as I live. I should have kept my Toyota.

Jacques de Villiers.

Well my head gasket blew for the 2nd time in a year on an S reg Freelander 1.8xei.It is already on a second engine!!!

I fixed it over the wknd with a friend it took about 8man hours. I have driven this morning to work, but the jury is still out on whether it is working. The first gasket cost me over £400. I don't have the money every 5 minutes to be replacing it!
