1999 Land Rover Freelander XEI review from UK and Ireland
"Very good car, cheap to run compared to its rivals"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Bought the car from a main dealership with 12 months warranty on it (a must if possible) as the head gasket blew at 70.000 the dealership fixed the problem few days later with no quibbles at all. A common fault as the engine (1.8) is the same as you will find in standard rover engine and is a common fault. The power on this model maybe a bit underpowered for some people, but with rising fuel cost the 1.8 engine is ideal for people who would want the 4x4 experience without the massive fuel costs.
General comments?
The car rides very well for its size and is comfortable no knocks or squeaks at all, solid throughout.
