1995 Lexus GS300 Touring review from North America
"One of the best overall"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Had brake stuck caliper issues - under warranty and after.
Water pump at 90,000.
Dash outside temp lamp failed at 140,000.
Tail light at 120,000.
General comments?
Overall the car is excellent, and it shows how good a car can be engineered and built. At 146,000 everything works on the car. The A/C has never been serviced and is ice cold. It is underpowered by today's standard, but handles very well considering its size and weight.
I call it the sewing machine - not very exciting, but it WILL start and it WILL get you there with pretty good overall gas mileage (22-24 mix driving) - very reliable obviously.
I should add this car has been fairly abused - left outside all year some years, teenage driven at times, lax maintenance. Also does quite well in snow with snow tires. The 12 CD trunk player works as always. I think an excellent used car for the current book values.
