100 000 miles my rear widow motor broke.
115 000 miles battery.
122 000 miles air bag light came on.
They are very good cars! I have had my gs300 for 8 years now and the only problem I have really had was the rear motor for the window packed in and being a mechanic it took me under an hour to replace and £65 + vat to buy. I bought a new battery which was a heavy duty battery which cost me £30 and less than 5 minutes to fit. (only changed battery due to taking a little bit longer to start) recently the airbag light has came on I have checked all of the fuses and all good. but for now can put up with that. these cars are brilliant on fuel for a big v6 3.o. I'm getting 30+ mpg on run and 24+ around town and when you look at it that way how many miles is a petrol ford fiesta doing round town about 10 mpg more and no were near as luxurious as the the gs300. the interior is like brand new if you give it a quick valet every few weeks. the seats have far more comfort than my bed and electric. the car has great handling I found my self doing 150 mph on 5000 revs with still 3000 revs left and it feels like you are doing 100 mph. I did a test with my father who has a 4.4 petrol BMW x5 we pulled the bonnet on both cars in my garage and stood a 50 pence piece above the engine on the cover and started the car and mine stayed on almost falling, but didn't. on my fathers x5 which he only had 4 few months baught brand new £47 000 my car had done about 120 000 miles were his must have done less than 5000 miles it fell over straight away. the way I look at it why go out and spend thousands on a new car when you can buy a classic for less than £5000 and still benefit with all of the luxury features.
The engine is an inline six, not a V6.
I thought this guy was a mechanic.
150mph? It's book is speed is 143mph but I suppose the dials over-register by a 2-8%. Not a V6 it's a straight six and being a mechanic you should know this. I love my old pearl GS300, I have driven everything being a car dealer but you can't beat the faithful old Lex for reliability and magical comfort. Even 5yr old Audis BMS eat your heart out, drive 350 miles in all three then tell me which one feels like it drove you there, seen it done it been there and everytime thought now if I had my Lex I would be feeling this tired much to the annoyance of my wife :-)

Forgot to add, these cars are engineering masterpieces in terms of comfort and reliability, they are over engineered 8 times over. I cannot believe how my GS300 is whisper quiet and bulletproof and its now 14 yrs old, Its pear white and it looks 2 yrs old when I have finished with it. Buy one BUT a good one be carefull, buy one from a Lex lover who will have maintained it well.
