2007 Lexus GS350 review from North America
"Luxury and style, but watch Lexus service departments"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Gas lid would not shut.
CD player would capture CDs and not play or release them.
General comments?
My Lexus has been mostly an enjoyable experience. It's quick with tons of do-dads that you can show off to friends.
The styling is good, especially on my GS.
The interior is attractive, with plenty of storage, however the seats could be more comfortable.
I found it very weird that a special message and warning lights appear for that monumental task of needing servicing, however if you're running out of gas, a single light lights, and it is hidden by my steering wheel.
Recently I had a rock hit my front windshield. My insurance company sent a local auto glass company who replaced my window on the spot. I was unaware that I should be asking for a Lexus manufactured windshield, and when my automatic wipers wouldn't work, my Lexus service rep. informed me that the windshield had to be Lexus built for the wipers to work. So I went back to the people who put the windshield in, and they got the insurance company to pay for genuine Lexus glass (to the tune of $1100 plus). The installers wanted $150 to reinstall and I paid it. Only the automatic wipers still didn't work.
I returned to Lexus and they took an afternoon to tell me that the jell pad between the sensor and the wind shield was missing, and they would gladly order one for $100. Lexus didn't feel, on my original complaint, that it was worth their time to check for this pad. At this time I don't plan on participating in the $150 to $200 Lexus oil changes anymore. I don't mind them (Lexus) being snooty, but I do resent my consistently paying for their snootiness.
