1992 Lexus LS400 review from North America
"The best road trip car, ever"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The centrifugal clutch on the fan was replaced.
I replaced the timing belt, water pump, and the brakes.
The seats are starting to wear, but not excessive.
The display for the clock and temperature does not work. The part is $400+.
General comments?
This is the best car that I have owned. I have read that comment many a time, but it is really true.
The work that I have done on the car has mostly been preventive maintenance.
My car has all options for the year. The air suspension is a bit soft at times, however it is easily changable.
The Nakamichi Sound System is Incredible. It also includes a 6 disc CD Changer in the trunk.
Heated Seats and Traction control are rare things to be found on a 1992 but they are there. The headrests power up and down as well as you seatbelt height is also a button. All power options
are in great working order.
My only complaints are lack of cup holders in the back seat, and the steering wheel has no radio or climate controls. However, I realize that this is a 1992, and these are standard in the current LS 430.
