The SC400 climate control LCD is notorious for "bleeding" out so that you can't read the screen, especially in cold weather. I found a replacement LCD screen that is excellent from an e-bay seller named "mercuryrunner" - an electronics guy named Hai in Sacramento, California with a 100% satisfaction rating by e-bay. It's about a 2-hour replacement exercise and the part is around $135 US, but it it the best option for the LCD failure. He also has LCD's for the LS400 which suffers from the same problem. I did the replacement myself in my 93 SC400 and it works great. Very good instructions come with it from Hai's website. You can go online and find used climate control units, but they could fail at any time so a new LCD screen is the best way to go if you are keeping your car for any length of time, which most SC400 owners tend to do. The LCD bleed is due to air getting into the LCD screen - it is irreversible.

I have a 92 sc400... from all the high mileage comments I've seen, I will probably be long gone before my car wears out..

I've seen one with over 600k miles... still running strong..

Mine has 78k... yes, I have a couple things that need attention, but it is 15 years old... I still enjoy driving it.. I've also had many offers from people who want to buy it.

Bought 92 SC400 off the showroom floor in Aug., 01. 189K miles later still like the car. Finish is still incredible (always garaged). Operating costs (gas & maintenance, but not insurance, registration or depreciation) have been $0.151/mile. Depreciation has been about $0.221/miles. Generally been a great car. I hate the idea of parting with it, as I don't see an obvious replacement that offers same comfort, performance and economy.

O.k. like the looks, but still not sure about it. I'm in college and it's only 10 grand for the car. I have gone through two trucks due to random problems. I want a dependable car that is still luxurious as were my trucks. A 1995 chevy s-10 and a 94 toyota pickup. Both have failed and the lexus looks nice and runs great. Now to my question, This car had flood damage and was rebuilt with over 8 grand in parts and accessories. It is immaculate since the dealer himself used to drive it, but bought a prowler and now drives it. Does this car go through springs, shocks, and other suspension parts like crazy due too it's weight? If I would wreck this car would their be plenty of parts for it on the internet due too my need for speed?

I wanted to buy a 92 sc400 with a 2000 model front end, new a/c compressor and it's a clean car black with grey interior supposedly RARE! It has 150 miles and tons of upgrades navi, Window XP. etc. Do you think it's worth 11,000?

I just bought an SC400 with 87000 miles for $4000 dollars. I was first worried, but now I forgot the $4000 because the car is great and amazing. I tried the extra power driving and it goes to 120mph in few seconds, and I don't even feel it is a luxurious car.

The only thing I have to worry about it is the police, specially here in northern VA, they will give up to $500 dollars fine for speeding.

At end it is good car.
