Like everyone else on here I have had the most ridiculous problems with my car. The car itself is great, but design flaws make it a total waste of money. I bought this car and within the first year I didn't have many problems. Brakes, and window regulators were about it. Then after a year the wheel lugs snapped off while I was driving about 60 miles an hour down the highway. Luckily one held and I didn't die. Well I had that fixed and about a year later another wheel snapped off while I was driving down the highway. The mechanic said that the wheel hub was out of round and was causing the lugs to loosen and that is why they kept snapping the bolts. That sounds like a manufacturer defect to me. I have had to replace the coils, and plug wires at about $600 which is absolutely ridiculous. The rear wheel bearing wnet bad recently and you can't just change the bearing of course. You have to replace the whole knuckle assembly at a cost of $900. The driver side interior door handle just broke also and I read somewhere on here that is going to cost $800!!! No thanks. I will just keep rolling down the window to open from the outside. The check engine light is back on and I know its the coils again. This car is a great car, but it has really stupid little things that cost way too much to fix. Foglights cost $110 to replace. After I replaced them both one went out again after like 6 months. I just don't get it. I am impressed with the transmission and clutch in mine though. I am pretty sure the previous owner never replaced either of those and I have 200,000 miles on the car now. I bought a V6 manual transmission model. All in all I have spent about $5,000 in repairs over 3 years and that's not counting oil changes and tires.
I like the car, but it costs way too much to fix.
200,000 miles I wouldn't complain sounds like you need to learn to work on your car youself and not whine about it.Mine is fine and have done nnothing, but regular service. P S it doesn't have plug wires!
I've got 2000 Lincoln LS. Sorry to say it's a piece of trash. It heats up, the coolant reservoir is cracked, air bag lights stay on, and don't forget all the misfires after it reaches operating temperature. I'm tired y'all. I do know how to work on my car. I'm just tired of buying parts for this car. Oh yeah, the lower ball joints are shot too.
These cars have serious design flaws, and should be avoided at all costs...
Maybe 200000km's is good for a Lincoln, maybe that's why so many people have foreign cars these days, because of experiences like this!
