1972 Lincoln Mark IV Continental from North America - Comments

"My elegant time machine"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

It's too early to tell, she's my first big-bird car.

So far though, she is flawless.

General comments?

I have wanted one of these since the very first time I laid eyes on her. You can moan all you want about gas prices, economy numbers etc., and all it will point out is one reality: you either love this type of car or don't. Hell, I want to be buried in it. It's like a second wife with kids: if you really love them, it doesn't matter what the world says, you listen to your heart.

I'm so glad I listened to mine.

In my opinion the Continental Mark IV is the most beautiful car ever produced. It is so perfect from all viewing angles. In the front, you have that stunning grille and hidden headlights... so classic... from the rear that spare tire hump.. also very classic,, and the side profile is so long, low and beautiful with those opera windows. This car has always taken my breath away... and now the best I can hope for is to hopefully find some high resolution photographs of these cars, since I have 3 binders filled with photographs of these amazing cars, including ME sitting on top of the front hood of a 1976 Cartier Edition Mark IV, taken back in 1976, when both the car and myself were in our prime!!!
