1990 Lincoln Mark VII Bill Blass review from North America

"This is the gentlemans hot rod; taut and responsive, economical and luxurious"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Stereo quit, antenna quit, door locks quit, got them back working and then they quit again!

Air bags quit at 130000, so I parked the car.

A year later I heard of the coil spring conversion that was available, but did not have the space or the funds to change all the things that the conversion required.

So after some thought and some looking at what was there, I re-engineered the conversion, using the stock pieces.

Bought some Mustang GT coil springs and cut the top 2 rolls off with a cut off wheel, and slid them in, and the bad boy went down two inches and stayed there.

With the 302 4sp o.d. transmission, and the new stance sure gets a lot of looks from the young set.

Does the cloverleafs at 45, then you can steer it with the throttle. It wants to drift slightly nearing 50.

Now with 190000 miles on it, it's needing another complete brake job; will do that myself.

If I can keep it under 65, it will get 22mpg. City stop and start, might get 12mpg.

Had an electrical short on the ground side of the battery, located the system that had the short, pulled the system out of the loop and switched it so the drain was eliminated! Body is now going away from the salt and age, but is still one bad ride.

I'm 59, and from 48 to 59 have put the hammer down on the missing Linc.
