1986 Lincoln Mark VII LSC review from North America
"Luxury with muscle"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The ONLY one MAJOR problem was when the ABS pump failed (when I was driving, thankfully at a slow speed, I built up enough back pressure to stop the car). Cost of repair: $1500.
Otherwise, last year when the car turned 15, I replaced all the hoses and lines as a preventative measure.
General comments?
This is a great car, the Mark series by Lincoln are by far some of the best cars I have ever driven (I even test drove the Mark VIII, and she handles like a dream). I was given this car as a hand-me-down from my parents when (they purchased it in 86), and even today I would chose this car over any other.
The car may seem big and bulky, but the handling is actually very responsive.
I will probably do some performance upgrades, like change the exhaust system to make it breathe better.
Otherwise I say again, this is a great all around car, a luxury car with muscle.
