1994 Lincoln Mark VIII review from Australia and New Zealand
"True Yankee Muscle/Luxury Hybrid"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Had to rebuild tranny at 89,000.
Water pump needed to be replaced at 83,000.
No other problems.
General comments?
Very fast with the new transmission.
Had governor chip removed and the car buries the needle at 140. I estimate top speed at 160mph. Car rides as smooth at 140 as it does at 40.
Can peel out by just tapping the gas.
Only Mark VIII I have ever seen in Australia.
Huge for a modern 2dr car. Terrible gas mileage, but one of the most fun and most comfortable cars around. Not as tight handling as German or Japanese cars, but more horsepower, more torque, and a different type of style and comfort.
10-disc changer with JBL premium sound. Good system for factory, but could definetly use better bass.
