1994 Lincoln Mark VIII review from North America
"A BEAST--140 mph++ Luxury Cruiser-AWESOME"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Sticking thermostat, causes antifreeze to flow into radiator causing "low antifreeze"
signal in on-board computer.
Air suspension aging (grinds to inflate).
Busted stereo speaker
Dealer had replaced tranny before purchase
Front end rattles when hits bumps (may be worn rocker arm)
NO OTHER RATTLES/DEFECTS WHATSOEVER.
General comments?
I traded a 1999 Town Car Cartier for this (needed extra $$) and everyone thought I was nuts. It has much less wrong than the T/C, which was falling apart despite good care. I am in LOVE with this old car. It is a beast, it practically idles at 70, floor it at 75 and it will pin you to your seat!! Several reviewers claim 140++ mph with governor off, legend is that Car and Driver took a '95 (same car) to Bonneville and got it to 175 BEFORE BACKING OFF!! Why in the world did Lincoln stop making Marks!! When I recover financially I'm going to buy a '98 (if I can bear to part with this beast). Gets 26 mpg, NO RATTLES (except above--amazing) and drives like new, a very comfortable cruiser (T/C was all over the road). This car is unbelievable, BEST $3,000 I EVER SPENT!!
