1998 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC review from North America
"The best high class car for the money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The only problem was the air blend lever shaft for the A/C-Heat broke. When that happens you do not get either heat or A/C. Apparently a design problem for all Lincolns. Dealer wanted $500 to fix. Said had to take the dash apart. The part was $45. I fixed it myself by using crazy glue on it through the command center opening. Has been reliable ever since.
General comments?
One of the most outstanding cars I've owned. Extremely fast for a heavy weight car- 6.4 sec to 60mph. Qtr. mile @ 99.7 mph. Powerful mid range punch yet delivers 22-24mpg on the road at 70 mph. Handles extremely well on secondary roads especially with 34lbs of tire pressure. Has chain driven timing belt so never any need to change.
Though the interior has leather seats, etc., it could have had a more luxurious dash, headliner, and door panel design like the Infinity's.
