2003 Lincoln Navigator review from North America

I purchased this vehicle in 2003 for around $45,000 thinking I was getting a WELL MADE luxury vehicle. The vehicle currently has around 96,000 miles on it and has never been in an accident. Since acquiring the SUV, I have had many problems which I consider to be outside the normal realm of "wear and Tear". Within the last two weeks however, I experienced the “last straw”. Because the SUV was “dying” randomly, and the transmission failed, I have had to get a major engine overhaul (including replacement of 3 engine coils and most spark plugs) ; replacement of my master brake cylinder (which was leaking) ; and my transmission rebuilt. All of this to the tune of $5,500.00. I contacted the Manufacturer to get SOME type of restitution because I consider this to be ridiculous (especially the failure of the transmission at less than 100,000 miles). They were not able to DO ANYTHING because there is no extended warranty. In my opinion, I believe that this confirms their refusal to stand behind the quality of their product. I will NEVER be purchasing a Ford/Lincoln or Mercury product again and will be communicating my experience to everyone I know. In my opinion, I would suggest avoiding this manufacturer at all cost because I believe that their products are simply not reliable.
