I have an 1983 Lincoln Town Car with a rebuilt motor from a older lady from the Minneapolis mn. It's rusty as it came from mn. winter where they use a lot of salt. Not horrible, but I am learning body work by fixing it up and painting it myself.
Brake lines went out on it, but runs great and shifts wonderful. It is a spare car, saved it from getting demo derbyed. It's ugly brown and tan two tone paint looks like a giant turd LOL. Won't be repainted that color. Good car though.
I got a 87 Town Car from my Grandad. He bought it new spring 87, he paid 38k cash for it at Pepe's Lincoln Mercury in Vineland NJ. The expression on the salesman's face was priceless, he decided on a two tone Light Gold upper and metallic Brown lower example.
180,000 miles, runs strong, great ride, was garaged kept for the first 11 years, then somehow they thought the lawn mower would be better in the garage??? (it was in a shed) so 11 more years only out in the rain, snow, heat, needs minor cosmetics, did the rear brake lines (rusted through), and also the rear wheel cylinders, although it did not need them (originals).
Doing the interior now, then the paint and body and Landau roof bring it back at least to year 2 appearance, but now it's out of the weather at my house where I will keep it as long as I can since it was my Pop-Pop's, and I am keeping it the way he intended, Stock as a Rock.
